Perfect Thai food, no discussion here. The prices, however, are really a bit over the top.

Just returned from a trip to Thailand *and* a visit to this restaurant and I would like to bump it up a start.
This is the only restaurant in Vienna serving Thai food that is pretty much exactly the same as you would get in Thailand.
Dishes are prepared the way they are supposed to be prepared and with the appropriate ingredients. And, yes, this means very spicy in some cases and not in the fake way that most Thai and Asian restaurants in Vienna do. No, they don't just add a spoon of chili flakes and call it "sehr scharf." Scharf here means fresh chilies chopped and included in the dish. You can't order the curries "nicht scharf" because the curry paste is made the way it's supposed to be made.
Without question, this is the best Thai food I have had in Vienna -- or even Continental Europe for that matter.

I added this review to get my "nonsmoking" tag on here. I have a request: Tupaleros should add nonsmoking to restaurants that have very good or complete non-smoking arrangements to make it easy to find for those, like me, who feel like their dining is often destroyed by the insipid cigarette stench that fills most Viennese eateries.

thank you for making that comment. I have also repeatedly asked for a "button" to add to the restaurants to indicate, if they are smoke-free. :)

This is definitely the best Thai food that I've come across in Vienna. The ingredients are fresh (no canned baby corn or bamboo shoots here) and when the lady says "scharf" she doesn't mean Vienna-scharf: she means it'll possibly blow your head off. So those possessed of a less heat-resistant tongue beware.
The cook told us that she will take special orders, too. So if you are longing for a specific Northern Thai dish, let her know a day or two before you want to come eat it and she'll cook it up for you.
Overall, great food, interesting, small space, friendly if a bit slow service and a good vibe.
One thing: my wife said that she heard the cook tell a patron to basically stop talking so loudly, so mind your volume level ;-)
Bonus: the whole restaurant is non-smoking!

Love it!
Tried it two times and it was very good (and very spicy :))
I hope they will make it!
Go there, take away is possible! -
Following enki's review, I gave it a try last saturday and I love it. Friendly staff, great food, and definitely one of the more auth. thai restaurants in vienna. The only downside is that they are somewhat limited reg. veggie dishes. Thumbs up though!

Insiders' Tip!
Small, cheap looking thai restaurant that just opened a few weeks ago. No fancy decoration, just some pics of King Bhumibol on the walls. Only a few tables, and you're basically sitting in the kitchen. Badly marketed on so many levels, this place probably will still explode with customers soon enough.
The food is the best (authentic!) thai food you can get in Vienna, the service is great, and the other patrons are interesting people most of the time - the people who come here obviously come because of the great food.
Been here three times in just a little over a week, and i'm thrilled!
