Great innercity stores , however might find that they fall in the same trap that Whole food Knightsbridge London fell ....wrong locations right stores....

The best gourmet selection in Amsterdam, I wonder if the store will survive... it's not that busy, but all is fresh!

Great shops, fun look and feel but probably the right stores in the wrong locations. Goods are often ""tired "' and somewhat stale = low stock turn! lots of "'dust"' on the shelved products = low stockturn or too few people that really care...
Will be interesting to see if they make it? -
I visited the new Marqt shop on Utrechtsestraat in Amsterdam recently. It is a good source for organic fruits and vegetables, and the store is well-organized and fun to wander about, BUT:
I bought fresh hummus that was the blandest I've ever tasted; the (expensive) bottled salad dressing was watery and, again, very bland.
I bought a fresh head of lettuce (roots attached) that was very fresh, but I was surprised that all the bagged salads contained greens that were already turning bad.
Also, I bought a beautiful, pricey bag of organic granola -- it tasted stale.
In summary, this is a fun shop to check out, and a great source for organic fresh produce, but I would be very careful about the prepared and packaged products.
