Best ice cream in Vienna. Worth the queue.

I was there about six times now and have never been disappointed. The Alpenkaramell has to be the best ice cream flavour I have ever tasted. The Raspberry is very, very fruity and does not contain dairy products to stretch the flavour as in other parlours. I also appreciate that there is a large selection of vegan ice creams, suitable to vegans and people with lactose intolerance alike. My nine year old cousin loved the vegan chocolate and she is very picky about her ice cream.
The shop is tiny, yet staff works efficient and does not stress when the queue reaches half down Rotenturmstraße. They also have two sizes of boxes to take larger portions home.

Forget all the other ice creams that you may have tasted during your lifetime. This is the best ice cream ever! Either you prefer something fruity or something nutty, you will with no doubt find it in Eis Greissler! All flavours are to die for! Be sure to taste this heavenly ice cream !

    • Oh yeah! It is definitly to die for. The other night I was standing in front of another ice cream place and my friend wanted some ice cream. I literally pulled her out of there only to go to Eis Greissler for some real ice cream!

Incredible new creamery in the middle of Vienna's first district. the interior is tiny and it's all takeout, but the ice cream is great.

Vegan options are plentiful, with 6 different flavors and a great chocolate version. Also, vegan waffle cones!

The owners are also extremely helpful and even go so far as to wash the scoopers before dipping in to the vegan ice cream buckets.

Only two minor negatives I can think of is their lack of seating and sometimes the line can go down the street so prepare to wait a little on busy days.

But that shouldn't stop you from becoming a regular.

I literally stumbled into Eis Greissler by accident. I spotted a family group celebrating with some champagne on Rotenturmstrasse. I was curious what they had been celebrating and turned to look and, miracle of miracles, I saw a tiny ice cream shop with NO LINE! I had already walked by it once without even noticing it. It serves ice cream made from organic milk & cream with no artificial flavors or additives. In addition, there is vegan ice cream.
