Great (whiskey) cocktails; Scottish Surprise and Rusty nail, adjusted to our special wishes. Nice place, although I never really feel at ease in / at cocktail bars...

I like cocktails and I visited alot bars in vienna but this cocktail bar is by far the best in vienna. ambience, style, music, nice personal and the best cocktails in town make this place just awesome.
one of the barkeepers introduced the "Sangrita" to me. Tequila (which you can choose) and in a seperate glass you get a non-alcoholic spicy mix. Together it's just great ;)
my top suggestion if you are looking for exceptional cocktails in vienna.

If you are into cocktails, long-drinks or pure spirits, Dino's undoubtedly is your place.
Whilst it looks somewhat posh and classy, it still has got no dress code whatsoever. You may go there in your suit after work or join fellow connaisseurs in your short baggy pants, T-Shirt and sneakers.
Dino's for sure offers the best drinks in Vienna. Not only is Heinz, one of the bartenders in charge, a genuine pharmacist, but equally he knows how to mix and to create drinks subject to prescription only by head physicians.
If you feel that you have tasted through the drinks-menu already, its no problem to ask Heinz (or any other bartender except for the apprentices) to create a new drink tailored to your taste. It is of course possible to order specific ingredients, such as specifying the vodka of your choice to be added to the "Liason Dangereuse" (see below).
Furthermore, Dino's carries Vienna's biggest line-up of whiskeys.
The overall selection is great: from Russky Standard Imperia to Don Giulio Tequila, Dino's carrys not only exotic, but also the finest brands in liqueur.
The prices are OK; Dino's delivers the goods, but they come at a price. Expect to pay approx 8.00 for the standard drinks and between EUR 11 to EUR 15 for custom-made ratios.
Be sure to grab a "Liason Dangereuse" consisting of Lemon-Grass-Liqueur, Vodka and Absinth. Tasty, indeed!
PS: The staff is _very_ friendly and always good for a laugh. Not surprisingly, they play a lot of Dean Martin's songs since the name of this bar is derived from this Hollywood movie star.
PPS: You _have_ to try the following drinks (they are my absolute favourites; be prepared, however, to dash out 50 EUR and be sure not to drive home in a driver's seat):
1.: Liason Dangereuse (I am very proud that this drink was created for me and me alone. Tastes lemon-grassy).
2.: Gimlet Caprese. This will absolutely hit your taste bulbs; mozarella, balsamico, vodka and more. Sounds completely out of bounds, but this is the rising star in cocktails worldwide, and a lease therefore a definite MUST HAVE.
3.: Shogun. Ginger, cucumber, Wasabi. Japanese style all over.
4.: Papadam Martini. Ok, this one is a bit rough as it tastes like - surprise! - papadam. Genuine huge peppercorn inside.
