Actually one of my top ten restaurants in vienna - I just like Viennese "Hausmannskost". Most of the time it's full so you have to share a table with other people but since they are quite big it's not a real problem.
Most of the meals are well prepared and you can even get some special creations like "Knödel" with "Bratensauce".
Sometimes the waiters have a bad day - for example once I tried to order a child-sized Schnitzel for my girlfriend and they refused to serve that to an adult person.- Add a comment

i gave it a second try, and this time it was definitely better. i didn't have the zwiebelrostbraten, though.
I had the "Faschierter Braten mit Kartoffelpüree" ( minced roast with mashed potatoes) and it was quite good ( and it was only €4.20). Mashed potatoes were delicious. But the souce was wery oily again.
The waiter in the end was quite tipsy, which was funny to watch although it was a little hard talking to him, cause he would not understand at the first try.
Anyway, it's a typical old fashioned viennese beisl with a little oily, but good food ( obviously the Zwiebelrostbraten i had last time was a one-off ).

i was there once, and the zwiebelrostbraten i had was by far the worst i ever had.
drowned in oil and tasteless.
but i know that the family of my schatz totally digs this place, so either it's the low prices or the food is usually better.

Food is excellent, and prices really are unbeatable. Sitting inside makes you smell of greasy Viennese kitchen for two days. Which is bad for your clothes, but good for the authentic experience.
Waiters are either exceptionally friendly or exceptionally grumpy. Depends on day and moon phase. I think.
