Great service and very great food. Although some of the currys are a bit thick for my taste, the combination of taste and ingredients is always special. Last time I had a clear soup of tamarind essence which is still favorably in my (taste) memory. And of course the classic tuna steak is always very fine. The atmosphere is a bit different now after the renovation. I like the new furniture, but not every corner feels as comfortable as before.
I have to admit that although I adore traditional Viêtnamese and Laotian food, I feel uncomfortable about its Europeanised, modernised, fancy-shmancy variety. Decidedly not my favourite, however impeccable the service may be.
Most of the food is excellent (not all of it though), the service is really good. But to be honest: it's a LITTLE bit overrated and some of the prices are just over-the-top.
Don't get me wrong: I eat diner in pricey restaurants REALLY frequently... I DON'T have a problem with high pricesprices if they are adequate and I get the appropriate value.
In my opinion the Indochine just isn't the "OH SO FABOLOUS" restaurant (a little too much hype in the last years, but that's nothing new in Vienna) and some of the dishes are just overpriced.
Nevertheless: it's a very good place to dine, you just have to be a bit tolerant regarding prices.
Superb service, great food and lovely atmosphere. Attention to details of waiter-excellent. Worth fine dining
