  Why are most of my favorite restaurants run by career changers? I have no idea, but I know for sure that I'd even eat at Reisinger's am Salzgries if it was near the city limits in the 22nd district. Luckily though, this gastronomic pearl is just a couple of minutes away from my office. Michael, his wife Adelheid and chef Alex serve lean, modern cuisine based on top-quality ingredients.

  Reisinger's offers two daily lunch menus (my best guess is that you won't find a better price value anywhere in Vienna), the menu changes weekly. I highly recommend a visit in the evening, the á la carte dishes are amazing. Reisinger's is one of the few places where I even order "critical" stuff like giblets, as every single dish is masterfully prepared. Skillful selection of white and red vines, strong Italian espresso, local bio-fruit juices and spirits: yes, you'll also find plenty of liquid pleasures at Reisinger's.

  While Alex is in charge of starters and main courses, Michael sweetens the menu with his incredible desserts. My favorite so far is the "Torta de la Nonna".

  To make a long story short: visit Reisinger's, try the food. Be glad you found this culinary diamond. You'll put it on your faves list - all guests do :-)
