Located in the rather popular 6th district of Vienna, Salzberg combines traditional Austrian cuisine with a slew of new and alternative cuisines. They serve a multitude of vegetarian dishes but also the staples of Austrian food like Zwiebelrostbraten and a slightly altered version of the Wiener Schnitzel.

Portions are big AND well prepared, something that differentiates it from many other places like it.

    Great brunch on weekends (10-16:00)
The range of food is excellent and - compared to several other brunch places in the same price range - much more than an extended breakfast. They offer a small selection of warm dishes (e.g. Mohnnudeln or gnocchi) next to the obligatory egg-stuff (very nice idea: egg cobblers). Also, the choice of desserts is super tasty and there is the possibility to make your own waffles.
The price is totally worth it (€ 13,70 including juices but not coffee). Service is good and attentive and they never run out of anything in the buffet. You definitely need to make a reservation some days ahead as they tend to be very full.
    Highly recommendable.

The food is exceptionally good and in summer it is definitely nice to get a place outside. Since the Magdalenenstraße is a rather small street, not many cars will disturb the culinary experience.
The "Brote" are huge and very well done but I just love the Topfenknöderl with Toblerone-filling with a strawberry-chili-sauce.

Very nice place with nice people and a good range of food even for vegetarians. Beer and wine are fine, too. During fine days you can sit outside, the street is quitze quiet.

Nice Austrian place, not overly trendy, but not too folksy either. Good food, good ambience. A bit smoky, like many Austrian places. Hope that will change soon...
