when the official opening hours are until 10 p.m. in june, july and august, the entrance should be guaranteed at this time! #fail
probably the best outdoor pool in vienna. everything is really clean, the cold water in the 50-metre-pool is exactly what i need after a hot day in vienna. during summer you can swim until 10pm.
but, as others have said before: it's expensive. a one-way-ticket costs 10€ (students 8€), after 5pm you still pay 5€ (students 4€).
if you have children, be prepared to spend a lot: from 1(!!!) to 5 years the entrance fee for kids is 3,50€ children who are older than 6 years pay 8€ (same as student fee).
it can get pretty crowded during the day and also after 5pm, when the prices drop.
oh yes, not quite cheap, but university students receive a discount till 28 ;-) if you arrive at 1:30 pm or later, you'll be at 6 €s. after 5 pm it's even cheaper. quite a walk from the ubahn stop "Schönbrunn", enter through "Meidlinger Tor" keep left and watch out for the obelisk. bring a 1 € coin for the lockers. nice lawn and quite cool pool, they've got special evenings with swimming till 22:00... could spend the whole day here chatting, swimming, reading.
One of the nicest swimming spots in this city, but packed on hot summer days after office hours. The rather high entrance fee doesn't make it attractive to big families though.
the schoenbrunnerbad is my secret great love in vienna. if you go there in the morning you will be almost alone in the water, it will be fresh and clear and it will give you good vibrations and energy for the rest of the day....but the best of schoenbrunnerbad is that in hot summer nights you can swim there until 22pm with floodlight. every thursday at 7 pm they dance samba there, you can also dance or swim with samba music.
there is also a nice restaurant, just try it.
