although the food is quite OK, you need to be a masochist to enjoy the unfriendliness of the waitresses. not exactly what I would call a good restaurant.

Lovely atmosphere and good food, service a little slow but who needs to rush?

at 'schöne perle' super-nice but slightly eccentric waiters serve you great (mostly typical austrian) dishes. as already mentioned by others, 'schöne perle' indeed does look like a university cafeteria. but since the quality of the food is great, the plain atmosphere doesn't really matter. prices are moderate, and they also offer menus and special dishes every day.
and yes: try the 'susitorte'. if you like chocolate, you will just love it.

I totally love this spot! it's a mix of traditional oriental and austrian food. if you asked me - that combination works out pretty well. the atmosphere is really nice. and the food was delicious! they have giant beans with pumpkinseed-oil - one of my favourite dishes!

high quality food and daily changing menus, one is vegetarian most of the time.
they serve mostly traditional austrian food with some modern elements.
i go there quite often because it's around the corner. it's also a nice place to hang out and chill a bit, drink coffe and read one of the many magazines or chat with friends.

    no dogs allowed.

I live near the restaurant, and I'm amazed by the constant quality they manage to deliver all these years. Personally, I'm not a big fan of "Innereien" (innards) or "Blutwurst" (a special Austrian wurst made of pig blood, you could called it vegetarian's nightmare), but this is one of the few spot where you can eat anything without risk of disappointment. Big up for the beautiful pearl (schöne Perle).

this restaurant with the weird name (allegedly it was an asian restaurant before and the new owners kept the name) looks like a canteen a bit but it s charming though. it s a nice hang out for an afternoon coffee with friends (big tables) but also for hausmannskost, kinda plain fare. if you re vegetarian/vegan i recommend spring rolls (tell the waiter if you want them vegan, the staff is very friendly there)
