This is one of the gas stations you HAVE to visit if you like small, smokey places with lousy service. It is indeed a transfer back to "good" old times and movie feeling. The gas station is the first/last at the border between Austria and Slovakia at this section of the border. The price of the gas is I'd say average compared to other Austrian ones located in e.g. Hainburg (away from the border). If you speak German they understand you. If you speak Slovak, they may understand you. If you speak English, they likely dont understand you. Have so far had no problems with Amex or VISA (both with PIN code). I typically go for gas stations in Hainburg in stead of this one. The number one reason is that I smell like a burnt down tobacco shop after 30 seconds in that place.
As said, worth a visit - in a very different way.
Very poor petrol station. For each type of petrol only one hose. In the afternoon drunk men drinking wine were sitting inside, smoking cigarettes and the customer has to pass them by as the room is very tiny. Also the woman at the counter was rather unpleasant. I payed with a credit card and she stared at me and told me off, that it was not a high ammount. I asked if they sell wine to takeaway, but she said they only serve it to drink at the place. The range of goods is also very limited. Bad experience. Like from a David Lynch movie.
