I went there about a year ago. I'm feeling very uncomfortable about writing this review, this is why it took me so long.

I wanted to have some lunch, I loved the atmosphere of the Cafe Berg and it also was nice to study there. I ordered "Eierschwammerl mit Serviettenknödel" and something to drink. I really enjoyed the food, it was nicely done. Then, at there last bits I realized that there was a flour worm in the sauce of the chanterelles. I got nervous. I had almost eaten all of it, if I was to complain it would look ridiculous.

But I came to the conclusion that I had to say something. I tried to not attract any attention of the other customers and told the waiter about the flour worm. At first he didn't see it, so I turned it over with the knife, so he could see it better, my try of not attracting attention failing.

He then asked me what he could do to make up for this. I told him that since I had almost eaten all of it, I would be fine with an "Eiskaffee". He asked me if that really would make it up and make me forget about it and I affirmed it.

Still I would never go there again. I'm having a hard time writing this, for I somehow promised the waiter not to make a big deal about this, on the other hand I think such information should be shared.

Please consider that kitchen staff might have changed meanwhile and that this information is one year old. On the other hand Cafe Berg is not cheap, so I think such things should never happen.

I liked their American Breakfast, their coffee, however, is terrible.

i've been here twice, and i certainly will go back. they have nice breakfasts, and the waiters are very, very friendly! On the other hand, it is a little pricey (that's the reason for three stars and not four.)

there is also a bookstore next to the cafè, which is a nice touch, i like browsing after coffee!

Used to like this place a lot some years ago, though kind of pricey. At least they´ve got soymilk..
breakfast till 3pm, no vegan breakfast of course, but usually they have a vegan meal in their regularly changing menu. (even if it´s just a salad with smoked tofu)

Coffee was quite ok, though not the cheapest I've ever experienced. Their schanigarten was quite nice though and you can never go wrong with sitting out on the sidewalk in the 9th district.

They have a US-like policy with their WIFI unfortunately, which means you have to pay, or buy a coffee every 30 minutes to get free access.

Nice, gay-friendly coffee/bar/restaurant. Good place for a drink after that niche movie you've seen in Votivkino.
