Really nice bubble teas. A lot of choice, different toppings to choose from. You can choose (at least for some) if you prefer hot or cold. I especially enjoy matcha with tapioca pearls. The only thing is that the teas are quite expensive - for water, a few grams of tea and tapioca pearls that you can buy 2€/ 500g in any Chinese supermarket. But still, it's nice to indulge sometimes. And the staff is friendly, and the small shop is nicely decorated.

My sister and I discovered (and fell in love with) bubble tea in 2005, while on (respective) holidays in Canada. Back then, no-one in Austria seemed to have heard of this delicious drink, so not too long after our return from C, the idea of opening Austria's first bubble tea shop was born.

For various reasons, our plan unfortunately never came to fruition (*sniffle*) and while my sister got her fair share of yummy tea with gummy pearls in Taiwan, the country of origin of this delicious beverage and her destination of choice for learning Chinese for a year, I had to wait quite a bit longer for my next cup of bubble tea.

Naturally, I was a teeny tiny bit saddened when I first walked by tea-licious (which had already closed for the evening at the time), BUT the super cute make-up and colours of the shop made me like it right away. Also, I was still thirsting for another drink of bubble tea after all (!!), so on my list of to-go places it went.. And I was not disappointed!

tea-licious really is a lovely place with a good selection of extremely delicious flavours for your bubble tea. I have to admit I wasn't too thrilled by the lack of enthusiasm and friendliness displayed by the girl who served me the first time I went there, but when I paid the shop another visit the next day (yep, it was that good ;) ), I met the owner of the place, who turned out to be one of the loveliest shopkeepers I have ever met, mwah!

We talked bubble tea for quite a bit and then she let me taste all the different toppings they offer because she had run out of tapioca pearls and I was slightly suspicious of the jelly. Turns out my reservations about it were unfounded - the jelly tasted really, really good and didn't feel weird in my mouth at all. Now that I've tasted all the toppings, I think I actually prefer the jelly over the popping boba!

On the web, I had meanwhile read about them offering stamp cards, so I asked for one of those and even got a stamp for the tea I had had the previous day. I guess it wouldn't hurt if they advertised this a bit better.. I, for one, already knew I was going to go there more often in the future, and I think I would have been a bit disappointed had I found out about their stamp cards only much later.

My favourite tea-licious drink so far is the iced (green) tea with mango flavour, my favourite topping (beside tapioka, which I believe is a must) has to be the rainbow jelly. I have yet to try any of the warm teas (I just wish soy milk didn't cost extra, meh), though now that summer is coming, getting one of the Bubbletea Snow's with crushed ice is probably more appropriate!

My better half and I have been awaiting the opening of tea-licious since we've passed by their then-under-construction bubbletea boutique. Now they're finally open (if you see construction workers do not hesitate to go in nonetheless, they are, indeed open)! Their menu is great, starting from normal bubbletea (black tea, milk, tapioca + flavor) to bubbletea snow (crushed ice and fruit) to smoothies. Since this summer screams for cold and refreshing beverages we were well advised to try the bubbletea snow, and so we did. The snow-version comes in three different flavors: pineapple, mango and passion fruit. Together with crushed ice and tapioca it becomes the perfect refreshment for hot summer days. I've had a pineapple bubbletea and was able to take a sip from the mango-flavored one. Both delicious.
All the ingredients come directly from Thailand (if I remember correctly), so the tea that is made and served is as genuine as it can get.
A customer card is available as well. Every 11th drink is free of cost.
I will definitely come back as often as I can.
